Our leader of the week is sharing her poster. We continued our research on our national parks. Later in the week, we presented our information to the class. We focused on geographical features, plants and wildlife, outdoor activities, and how the national park is special to the region. On Monday, we read about hurricane hunters and first-hand experiences of a pilot who flies through hurricanes for research. We watched a video of a hurricane hunter flying through the eye of a hurricane. We learned about visualizing and how words can help us paint pictures in our mind to help us understand the text. We used our book club books to find phrases that helped us visualize and created quick sketches of what we visualized happening in the text.
