Congrats to our kindness and grit award recipients! Thanks to all of our Special Someones for coming in for our "One Word" activity! We read the first chapter of our science reader to learn about different types of energy in our homes. We learned that energy can given off as heat, motion, light, and sound. We enjoyed playing an adding game with our 1st grade buddy after assisting them with their letters to their special someones. We started our next Thinking Classroom Activity. The kids were given a challenge to figure out how many buses are needed to get students, teachers, and parent volunteers to their field trip destination. We will finish up next week! While kids were performing at Walden, we put our creativity to the test! Kids helped make math charts for the class. Students also worked together to plan and design a zoo (complete with a slideshow)! We worked together to triple and quadruple recipes brought from home. Thank you so much to everyone for sending in recipes...
We did some partner work comparing and contrasting dances from around the world. Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!!! In social studies, we picked two picture/word cards and determined how they were connected to one another. Congratulations to our kindness and grit award recipients! We investigated two different timelines. We compared and contrasted the information presented on both. We also discovered that a single source cannot capture the complete story of our history. We brainstormed "More of This" and "Less of That" for our classroom environment and expectations. We did a gallery walk to showcase our circuit unit. I'm so proud of the kids for getting the lights, fans, and buzzers to work! Congratulations to our kindness and grit award recipients! Thank you to our party parents for giving our class a great party! We put on shower caps and tossed some rings on antlers! We made our very own mini snowman with props! In art, some kids made beautiful snowflakes. We listened...
Exploring some books in the LMC. Researching building structures for our upcoming science experiment. Experimenting with 10 sec, 20 sec, and 30 sec earthquakes to determine safer locations for building. Recapping our Book Club reading so far with the class. We met our first grade buddies from Mrs. Farley's class! Congratulations to our Kindness and Grit Award Recipients!
